To make this project I used a painting from the baroque period. The target for this project was to transform the piece of baroque art into pop art by using illustrator or photoshop. I used photoshop. There are a few basic characteristics of baroque art such as a sense of movement, energy, and tension (whether real or implied). Contrasts of light and shadow make the painting more dramatic. These things were also used in creating buildings. Spirituality and religion are often present in works of baroque art; in the Roman Catholic countries. To transform this piece into a pop art piece you have to change the characteristics, and have some creativity. Pop art uses techniques of taking normal, everyday things, and making them more enjoyable and more interesting to the audience. Adding more color and contrast is a way to do so.

To transform my baroque painting into a pop art painting I took away some of the detail, but kept enough to know what it is. Also, I added many different colors to make this painting more interesting.
